Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using Recall (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use Recall.

These Terms apply to all users, including those on the free plan and those with a Recall AI subscription.

You must create an account to use Recall. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us at support@recalllabs.net immediately.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Recall. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement.

The core Recall app is free to use - including unlimited manually created cards and decks, all card types, all study modes, and all scheduling algorithms. No credit card is required to create an account or use the free plan.

Recall AI is an optional paid subscription that adds AI-powered flashcard generation from notes and PDFs, with 100 generations per month. It is available for A$6.99 per month or A$49.99 per year. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.

You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access to Recall AI until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep the free app - and every deck you have created - regardless.

Prices displayed are inclusive of Australian GST where applicable. International customers may be subject to their local taxes or bank fees depending on their payment method and location.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By completing a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.

All payments are final. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. Because the core app is free, we recommend using the free plan to make sure Recall meets your needs before subscribing to Recall AI. If you have a question before subscribing, email support@recalllabs.net and we will be happy to help.

When you use Recall - on the free plan or with a Recall AI subscription - we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, single-user licence to install and use the app on your devices. You may not:

• Share, resell, or sublicense your access to Recall.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app.
• Use automated tools to scrape or access the service.
• Use Recall to store or distribute content that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.

Recall is available on Windows and Mac. A single purchase covers all platforms your account is used on.

You own all content you create in Recall. Your decks, cards, and media are yours. We do not claim ownership of your content, and we will never use your flashcard content to train machine learning models without your explicit consent.

You are responsible for the content you create and store in Recall. Do not store content you do not have the right to use.

We reserve the right to update and improve Recall at any time. Updates are provided to all licence holders at no extra charge. We also reserve the right to update these Terms. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Recall after an update to these Terms constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before taking effect.

Recall is a locally installed desktop application. Study sessions work entirely offline. Some features require an internet connection (sign-in, payment verification). We aim for high availability on those services but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Use of Recall is at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recall Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for your licence.

You may close your account at any time from the Profile screen. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends and your account data will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy. Your locally stored data remains on your device until you remove it.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia.
